Duo on Kayaking Trip from Miami to New York to Stop Over at Ripley’s Aquarium

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (April 2007) - On April 29, 2007 at  12:30 PM, Robert Weinman and  Stein Kretsinger will take a break from their walking and kayaking trip that is taking them from Miami, Florida to New York. During their short stopover here, they plan to visit with Ripley's Aquarium marine science campers.  The duo is currently attempting to be the first to walk and kayak from Miami to New York in an effort to promote healthier beaches. 
 The pair will visit Ripley's Aquarium and will make themselves available to the media from 12:30 - 1 p.m.  Following this session, they will be spending time talking with students who participate in Ripley's Marine Science Camps.  Immediately following their discussion, the campers will be bused to the beach to walk and kayak with Weinman and Kretsinger around the 38th Ave. North region. 
 

Ripley's Aquarium is an AZA accredited facility which promotes beach and ocean conservation measures.  Ripley's acts as site captains for the national beach and river sweep in the Myrtle Beach area and promotes conservation in many ways: through its educational programs for both groups and the general public, through its affiliation with numerous conservation organizations, its recycling programs, and hands - on learning opportunities for children attending its nationally recognized marine science programs.
