Guinness Champion to Publicly Attempt Most Dangerous Stunt of His Life

DULUTH, Minn. (July 2, 2007) - Nine-time Guinness World Record holder Chad Netherland will risk life and limb on 07.07.07 as he endeavors to set a new record - the most dangerous he has attempted to date.
His amazing feat of strength will be a part of the yearly fundraiser for the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. (EAA Chapter 252) at the Richard I. Bong Memorial Airport in Superior Wisc.
On Saturday, July 7 at 1 p.m., Netherland will literally risk having his arms ripped off as he attempts to hold back two airplanes trying to take off in opposite directions - for one minute!  According to Guinness World Records the current record stands at 54 seconds held by four time Olympic power lifting champion Ilkka Nummisto of Finland. To date this record has never been held by an American.
"In life, one's greatest victory comes with the risk of great failure," notes Netherland. "This is actually much more dangerous than having 900 pounds of concrete broken off my chest with a sledge hammer while lying on a bed of nails - I'm used to that!" If successful, this will be Netherlands 10th Guinness World Record.
Guinness World Records Museums, licensed worldwide by Ripley Entertainment Inc., now operate in six cities worldwide - Gatlinburg, Tenn.; Niagara Falls, Can.; San Antonio, Texas; Hollywood, Calif.; Tokyo Japan; and Copenhagen, Denmark. The seventh Guinness World Records Museum is set to open in Bangalore, India in 2008.
