ORLANDO, FL. (May 2nd, 2019) – Will Gabby conquer her fear of the dark and explore the dark ocean? Will Norman ultimately find a way to fly? These two relatable marine animals tell their truths and failures in a new series of illustrated storybooks by Ripley Publishing.

Gabby and the Dark and Norman and the Flight, both named after Ripley Aquarium mascots, are sympathetic adventures told with highly expressive illustrations to deliver fun, surprise, and delight.

Hand painted in watercolor, Gabby and the Dark and  Norman and the Flight are illustrated by John Graziano, officially the seventh artist to take up the pen since Robert Ripley originated the Believe It or Not! cartoon panel in 1918.

ABOUT THE BOOKS

Gabby’s not afraid of the dark! Well, maybe just a little.

Readers join Gabby as she explores the deep, dark ocean. Told from Gabby’s point of view, kids will relate to how scary the dark can feel but, like Gabby, will be assured that they, too, can conquer their fear and maybe even make a new friend in the process!

Who says penguins can’t fly?

The adorable Norman searches for a way to accomplish the impossible. Children and parents will giggle at Norman’s silly attempts to fly and relate to his disappointment at his failures. Will Norman ultimately find a way to fly? There’s only one way to find out!

Orlando, Florida (September 18th, 2018) – Celebrating a century, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is releasing a compendium of curiosities with its newest title, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! 100 Years.

Filled with never-before-seen archival images, behind-the-scenes stories, and awe-inspiring fold-outs and attachments, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! 100 Years allows readers to reminisce on the days of Robert Ripley’s travels and broadcasts, the creation of the first Odditorium and the company’s expansion into a household name.

Since the release of the first “Believe It or Not!” cartoon in 1918, Ripley’s is the company that made the unbelievable believable. This sense of wonder has inspired many, including “Garfield” creator Jim Davis, who shares his story in the introduction of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! 100 Years.

“For 100 years, this unique company has stirred the imaginations of millions of people around the globe, inciting awe, amazement, and genuine disbelief,” wrote Jim Davis.

Orlando, FL (July 6, 2018) – Founded on unbelievable athletic feats in 1918, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is reenergizing its history with a two-year touring, digital content, and publishing partnership with action sports entertainment brand Nitro Circus.

As a category exclusive partner, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! will be featured throughout Nitro Circus’ live shows and the Nitro World Games. Utilizing athlete ambassadors, the two brands will collaborate on original digital content and engaging experiences. As part of this agreement, Ripley Publishing also becomes the exclusive publisher for Nitro Circus, releasing its first title in Spring 2019.

Pushing human limits to the extreme for the last century, Ripley’s officially began when a young Robert Ripley pulled together a few notable feats of endurance, sketching each. He submitted the cartoon to his editors with the title “Champs and Chumps” but also offered “Believe It or Not” as an alternative. Today, unbelievable feats are still carrying on Ripley’s legacy—where Nitro Circus athletes, led by Travis Pastrana, continue to amaze audiences around the world by pushing progression and achieving what was previously thought impossible.

“Both global family entertainment brands, Nitro Circus and Ripley’s strive to make the unbelievable believable. It’s this passion and common thread that makes for a perfect partnership,” said Amanda Joiner, Ripley’s Senior Director of Publishing and Licensing.

Brand New Picture Books from Ripley Publishing

Will Bremner puff up and ruin the celebration? Will Sharkee ever find the teddy bear? These two relatable aquatic animals tell their stories in a new series of illustrated storybooks by Ripley Publishing.

Bremner and the Party and Sharkee and the Teddy Bear, both named after Ripley Aquarium mascots, are entertaining “tails” told with highly expressive illustrations to deliver fun, surprise and delight.

Hand-painted in watercolor, Bremner and the Party and Sharkee and the Teddy Bear are illustrated by John Graziano, officially the seventh artist to take up the pen since Robert Ripley originated the Believe It or Not! cartoon panel in 1918. Graziano has provided many illustrations for Ripley Publishing projects including Search for the Shrunken Heads, Twists: Pirates and the most recent addition to the Ripley shelves, It’s A Circle! (But not Just a Circle!) and Lobsters are Red (But sometimes they’re Not!) board books.

Sharkee and the Teddy Bear –  A teddy bear has fallen into the ocean, but where did it go?

Bremner and the Party – Bremner the puffer fish is going to a party tonight. Gulp! When he’s nervous, he puffs up!
