Guinness World Record Attempted At Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Chris Steele, a professional Sword Swallower, will attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by swallowing 5 swords underwater at the Coral Reef Tank at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies on Saturday Feb 13, at 3 p.m.

Steele will attempt to swallow 5 swords each measuring 30” in length. That is a total of 12 ½ feet of solid steel being inserted into his esophagus and guided down to the very bottom of his stomach while being completely submerged underwater

Steele, a part of the sideshow performing act “Captain and Maybelle” delivers unbelievable acts of human strength and endurance every day in cities all over the country. He is the current world record holder for ”Weighted Sword Swallowing” where he swallowed a 17” sword attached to 84.2 pounds. He is currently featured in the “How’d They Do That?’ exhibit for the sword swallowing and human blockhead at the St. Augustine Ripley’s Odditorium.
